Annual Work Easter Egg Hunt

Ridge and I were very excited for the annual Easter egg hunt at my co-worker Dan's house.  They do a great job at making it fun for kids of all ages even the adults, who doesn't love hunting for Easter eggs. It was great weather and a great turn out this year.

Ridge, either being his normal silly self or trying to smile like Sponge Bob..

Ridge found a "Golden" egg, we searched hi and low for a long time and it paid off in the end, he got a toy truck as the prize.

making friends with Abby and Quinn

all lined up for the egg toss

Ridge not understanding the concept of the game,

Missed, but it didn't crack.. luckily it cracked in the bushes behind me and not on one of us.

more friends, Quinn(totally sweetie, they were BFF's) and Parker

Already can't wait till next year!! :)

Ridge's 3 year Dr check up

The morning started out a little rough; he didn't want toast with his eggs, he wanted a movie not cartoons, he wanted to pick out his own clothes, he wanted to brush his own teeth, his socks were hurting his feet, etc..  All the typical things of an independent 3 year old, which unfortunately is hard to have patients with when I'm already running late.  But at the doctors office he was a perfect angel, he did exactly what he was asked and was polite and cute.  And he even got to wear this fancy hospital gown.  His size is average of 33lbs and 38 inches tall, and he's right on track with his developments.  The Dr was impressed at how well he carried on a conversation.  Ridge was very excited about his books and stickers he got and that he didn't need shots, yey!

Tid bits:
  • After trying to tell me the right way to build him a slide he finally said "mom your not listening to my words."
  • "Mommy don't do that its dangerous!"
  • I say if you eat all your dinner you get a marshmallow, he says "what happens if I don't eat my dinner?" how do they figure that stuff out..
  • He loves the color orange! He wants orange everything!!
  • Sadly he got burned from the iron but when I put it under cold water he said "I'm okay mommy, I'm Okay."  The next day when I tore the bandage off he said "I won't cry Mommy."  He is so brave.
  • He only ever wants to wear shorts. He has to wear pants anytime he's not home but once he walks in the door he goes to his room to change.
  • He wants his privacy, he'll ask me to leave and shut the door if he's going to the bathroom or in his room changing.
  • Sometimes he struggles with the S sound so Stick come out "tick", Spoon is "Poon", Spunge is "Punge" etc..
  • He loves anything and everything a typical boy does; dirt, trucks, and monsters..

St. Patrick's Day fun

Ridge got to help make green pancakes on friday, he was pretty proud of them.

We didn't do a whole lot on St. Patricks Day but we did wear green to church and made green rice crispie treats. Then that evening Daniel remembered that St. Patricks Day is a celebration of Ranger's heritage,, he's an "Irish" Terrior, so I took a few quick pictures, but next year we'll have to have a little party for him.

Customer Service Conference

I went to a two day Customer Service conference in Seattle for my work last week and it was surprisingly super fun..  PUD works with NWPPA and allows us to go to training classes but we have to take the initiative and sign up for them.  I always had an excuse not to go to one but after 6 years I decided I needed a refresher course on having Empathy for difficult customer, so I went.  I met new fun people, learned a lot of new outlooks, and got re-motivated to enjoy the monotony of the day. And I got to stay in a nice hotel downtown Seattle for two night so it was almost like a mini vacation too.
